On September 4th, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control issued a halt on certain evictions to prevent COVID-19 spread. Despite the furry of litigation this caused nationwide, Allegheny County is observing the halt. Tenants may file a CDC declaration to postpone litigation. County Arbitrators have been asked to immediately stop hearings upon tenant testimony that they are seeking CDC or CARES Act relief.
