Mary Conn has made a career drawing on an innate sense of empathy.

The Philadelphia native migrated to western Pennsylvania as a double major in philosophy and theology at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, and began her career immediately afterward at a law firm that specialized in handling clients with special needs.

Her next stop came as a special education teacher on a Native American reservation in North Dakota, where her self-described "heart of service" found a new level of opportunity and expression, and followed that experience with a role on the staff of a Pittsburgh-area non-profit agency.

At Very Law, Ms. Conn serves as a paralegal, where her natural inclination to be of meaningful assistance to others in need can be used in multiple ways. Her responsibilities include corresponding with clients, drafting documents for the firm's attorneys, acting as an administrative mediator between attorneys and clients, and providing any and all support services required to move the firm forward.

She views the practice of law as an act of service, and brings a collaborative and cheerful presence to every interaction. Ms. Conn lives in the city and, when not training to run the Pittsburgh half-marathon, savors reading while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee.
