Axiom Global to open up ‘reimagined’ law firm after Arizona approval

Leading alternative legal services provider, Axiom Global, has announced that they will be opening a subsidiary in legal services as an Arizona law firm. This was made possible after it gained approval from the Arizona Supreme Court, which previously prohibited nonlawyers from pursuing economic interests in law firms.

The firm will be called Axiom Advice & Counsel, and its goal is to innovate legal services and make them more accessible. The firm will provide businesses that don’t have an in-house legal team with legal advice.

Wire fraud scheme issues over 7,600 fake nursing diplomas in Florida

It was discovered that thousands of nurses throughout the United States may be practicing using fake nursing diplomas after officials uncovered that three nursing schools in South Florida have issued over 7,600 fake diplomas.

The three schools, which are now closed, were the Palm Beach School of Nursing, Siena College, and Sacred Heart International Institute. The Justice Department has charged over a dozen people who were allegedly connected to the scheme.

Pennsylvania imposes limits on forever chemicals ahead of federal standards

Pennsylvania has recently imposed limits on two PFAS chemicals that are found in drinking water. This marks the first time that the state has set its own limits before new federal standards were implemented.

The state’s Department of Environmental Protection proposed that perfluorooctane sulfonic acid, or PFOS, and perfluorooctanoic acid, or PFOA, will be limited to 18 parts per trillion and 14 parts per trillion, respectively. This was done after detectable levels of these chemicals were found in many of Pennsylvania’s public water systems.
